From July 24th to July 28th, 2013 in Romania, city of Curtea de Arges international storytelling festival „Once upon a time” took place. Festival was organized in the framework of Project „Common Stories of Europe”. During the festival Romanian partners from “George Topirceanu” Culture and Arts center organized various interesting activities, involving local inhabitants and Project partners. In the park of Arges Monastery experience and historical stories were told, also great story from young storytellers on legends from Monastery was presented.
Project participants also visited Poenari fortress, history of which is closely linked to life story of Dracula (Vlad Tepes). Here “Stories of Dracula” were told, clarifying the true story of count’s life and events of that time.
During the festival participants also had possibility to visit Vidraru Lake, where project partners took part in creative workshops “Storytelling through colours”, enhanced their communication skills and gain experience in creating and presenting stories.
This was the third project partners meeting. During it partners also presented their “home works” – prepared creative, traditional and experience stories. Participants also visited city municipality. Project coordinators were invited to take part in regional TV broadcast, where they told about project and its activities. Project partners also did project evaluation, planning and specification of following project activities.

Next Project meeting and storytelling festival will take place in Portugal, September 2013.

Project leading partner is Vidzeme Culture and Art Association “Haritas” (Latvia).
Project “Common Stories of Europe” is Grundtvig Learning partnership Project. It lasts from August 2012 until July 2014.
